Do you like dogs? Do you like mutating hives based on evolutionary genetics? Then you’ll love Wobbledogs, a surprisingly chill experience that places a bunch of transmuting cyberpets in your care.

Wobbledogs has stress-relief at its core. It aims to help players simply observe the game’s titular creatures as they grow, evolve and wobble around a sandbox environment. The game’s developer, Animal Uprising, has a summary of the game’s unconventional mechanics on its Steam page:
“Wobbledogs is a 3D pet simulation where you raise your own personal hive of rapidly mutating dogs, physically simulated all the way down to their guts! It’s a casual and chill sandbox experience for players of all ages who want to care for their very own virtual pets in a surprising, unique, and stress-free environment. The dogs start out relatively normal, but mutate and behave in surprising ways as the game progresses and their evolutionary lines advance.”

Each Wobbledog is physically simulated, meaning each canine will move and act differently to the next. This means that players will get to observe the weird shenanigans of their pets, which should prove to be both unpredictable and adorable.
Players don’t need to interact with the doggos, but doing so allows these cathartic creatures to work their magic, making the experience both fun and relaxing.

As well as being a cyber caretaker, players can also build their pets a custom playpen by stringing rooms together. The whole thing feels like a series of hamster tubes, connecting rooms together, which perfectly suits the aesthetic.
There are no specific goals within the game, so creating these rooms simply allows the Wobbledogs to explore. As for what they’ll get up to, each situation or occurrence should be as curious and unique as the critters involved.

The new indie game Wobbledogs is currently available on Steam for £11.39, a small price to pay for such a stress-reducing experience.
