Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’s latest trailer hints at a potential PC release, and has sent the internet into a frenzy.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is one of the PS5’s most highly anticipated games of 2021, and its release is less than a month away. Yet it seems that it’s not only PS5 players that may be able to enjoy the new instalment of the fan-favourite series.
The trailer titled “Weapons & Traversal” (watch above) is hosted by in-game character Zurkon Jr, and is a first in a three-part series.
As the name of the trailer suggests, this video will look at the weapons of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and how you can traverse throughout its world. Other than showing off some gameplay, the video offers another opportunity to see how stunning this game looks.
However, it’s the very end of the trailer that has sent fans into a frenzy with the words “PlayStation 5 Console Exclusive”.
Of course, this wording leaves the door wide open for a PC version, with similar wording used for other PlayStation exclusive games which have later made their way to PC, such as Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone.
Despite being just a few words, “PlayStation 5 Console Exclusive” evidentially gives a lot away without actually saying much. If Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart was a PS5 exclusive, surely it would just say at the end of the trailer, PlayStation 5 Exclusive?
Well, in a twist of the tale, a tweet featuring the same trailer from the PlayStation UK Twitter page, does in fact say “PlayStation 5 Exclusive.” Just to confuse us even more!
At this time we can only speculate until Sony confirms otherwise, but it does look likely that Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will use its interdimensional abilities to jump to PC.
