Resident Evil 2 Reboot Gets Collector’s Edition Fit For The S.T.A.R.S

The whole world and their mums are excited for the rebooted Resident Evil 2 to launch on PC and console next year, and the horror classic is getting a very sweet collector’s edition.

Unveiled by the Resident Evil team and the official PlayStation Blog, the collector’s edition is one of most exciting we’ve seen in a while.

According to the reports, the bundle will include the Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition, which will get you the full game, deluxe packaging and an Extra DLC Pack card, includes Claire’s and Leon’s classic costumes, a weapon and the option to include the classic game’s music too.

Along with the game, you’ll also be getting the ‘Ben’s File’ art book, which is apparently a file of photos and documents collated by journalist Ben Bertolucci, a character in the game.

You’ll also get a digital copy of the soundtrack, and a poster of the Raccoon City Police Department’s blueprints.

Best of all, the collector’s edition gets you a 12″ statue of the iconic Leon S. Kennedy, complete in his RPD uniform.

Unfortunately, this release of the game – as far as we now right now – is only going to be available in North America, where it will retail for $199.99 USD at Gamestop.

Is this your favourite collector’s edition seen in recently years, and will you putting down your dollar for the extra goodies?

The announcement of the special edition wasn’t the only unveiling from the SDCC panel, who also teased us with some gameplay and some concept art.

It’s been announced that Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy have had a bit of a makeover, with Claire rocking a “biker chick” aesthetic, and Leon apparently looking a little more youthful than we’ve seen him recently.

Which doesn’t come as any surprise really, as the original Resident Evil 2 released way back in 1998.

Resident Evil 2 will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, 25th January 2019.
