Resident Evil 4 remake confirmed for PSVR 2 release

With the Resident Evil 4 remake fast approaching, it has been revealed that the title will also be coming to the PSVR 2.

Resident Evil 4 remake is set for release on March 24. Surprisingly, to coincide with today’s release of the PSVR 2, the two have come together. Capcom has now confirmed you will also be able to experience the survival horror game in VR… for free.

Resident Evil 4 Remake for VR is in development

As mentioned, the PSVR 2 is officially available today. Despite a hefty price tag (being even more expensive than the Playstation 5 itself), Sony has been pulling out all the stops to make it worth it. With over 40 titles coming to the VR headset, Resident Evil 4 is joining an exciting lineup.

In a Tweet posted by Capcom via the official RE 4 account, they have revealed that “VR mode of “Resident Evil RE: 4” has started development!” They also say to stay tuned for more details.

Face to face with horror

This is not the first Resident Evil game to head to VR. The original Resident Evil 4 was also released in 2021 for the Oculus Quest 2. Fans loved experiencing the horror-filled environment in virtual reality. So there’s no surprise the remake will also be following suit.

The title for PSVR 2 will allow players to step into the shoes of Leon Kennedy as he tracks the President’s daughter to a secluded European village. It is there that players will come face to face (quite literally) with the town’s unusual villagers.

Although we are yet to have an exact release date for the VR addition, knowing it is in development has fans excited. It will be released as a DLC for the game and will be exclusive to PS5 and PSVR 2. Although the RE 4 remake will also be heading to Xbox Series X/S and PC, you will unfortunately need the Sony products to experience it in VR.
