As the world revels in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, the rumour mill is already hard at work pumping out supposedly-new information on Call of Duty 2020.
We’ve been hearing for a while now that the next next CoD game will be Black Ops 5, though we’ve yet to hear anything from Activision itself on the matter.

However, a new source has popped up out of the woodwork to suggest that yes, it will be Black Ops 5, and it’s going to be “even grittier” than Modern Warfare is promising to be.
Known CoD leaker LongSensation recently tweeted out a leak [via GamesRadar], writing: “Call of Duty 2020 has been under 2 names thus far.
“Call of Duty: Black Ops
“Call of Duty: Black Ops V
“Set during the Cold War. Spans the entire 40+ years and incs Vietnam and Korean War. Described as even more gritty and gruesome than Modern Warfare.
“I’m not joking.”

Earlier this year Kotaku also claimed that CoD 2020 will be Black Ops 5, and also added that its setting would be during the Cold War. Either we’re hearing an echo, or we’re getting Black Ops 5 next year…

Both sources suggest that Treyarch is working on the new next title, which is definitely an interesting move as it means that after Black Ops 4, Treyarch will have just two years of development time instead of the usual three.

Hopefully, this means we won’t get a shoddy game when the time comes, but it’s also important to remember the people behind the games we love, especially when it comes to the crunch!
