Rumour Says Ant-Man 3 Will Introduce A New Avengers Team

While Kevin Feige has already locked in his Phase 4 slate with movies like Thor: Love of ThunderThe Eternals, and Black Widow, it’s clear the MCU is already looking beyond 2022 and to what comes in Phase 5.

With Paul Rudd joining the world’s highest-grossing franchise in 2015 for Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man, the pint-sized hero has slowly become a ‘big’ presence in the MCU. Despite some fans not being the biggest Ant-Man ant-fans, Lang was an integral part of Avengers: Endgame and the movie’s time heist.

Now, the latest reports suggest Ant-Man 3 could introduce a new team of Avengers. Charles Murhpy’s Murphy’s Law Podcast claims that the Young Avengers will join the MCU in the potential threequel.

There are no further details on what to expect, but it’s important to note this isn’t the first we’ve heard of the Young Avengers.

When we last left Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scott had reconciled with Hope (Evangeline Lilly) and met his older daughter after Thanos’ snap. Given that Cassie Lang takes on the hero mantle of Stature — and older actor Emma Fuhrmann played her in Endgame — the pieces are in place for Stature to lead the Young Avengers.

Elsewhere, there’s already been reports that Wiccan and Speed will be part of the Disney+ WandaVision series AND we know Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan) is also on the horizon.

Kate Bishop is confirmed to be in Hawkeye, so we’re just missing the likes of Iron Lad, Patriot, and Hulkling. Thankfully, the MCU has already teased the ‘new’ Iron Man with Harley Kener, while the rest are open to interpretation.

Speaking of pieces, Feige spoke to The New York Times and teased a possible Phase 5 return for Ant-Man 3. He cryptically told the site, “The chess pieces were arranged very purposefully after Endgame. Those that are off the board are off, and those that are still on, you never know.”

Personally, I’d love to see an Ant-Man movie with the original line-up. With some handy movie magic, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer were frankly brilliant as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Either way, there’s plenty of ‘buzz’ surrounding these stunted superheroes!
