Recent rumours are suggesting that Netflix is planning to produce a new series based upon Bethesda’s RPG series The Elder Scrolls.
The reports come via industry insider Daniel Ritchtman and while the full story is locked behind his Patreon, we do have some of the details (thanks, We Got This Covered). To get the full lowdown, head on over to Ritchtman’s Patreon here.

According to Ritchtman, Netflix is going all-in on this production and it is believed that it will be backed by a whopping $150 million budget per season!
In comparison the immensely popular The Witcher series on Netflix (which stars Henry Cavill) is estimated to have a budget of around $70-$80 million per season.

While it’s safe to assume that this Elder Scrolls series would be in its very early stages of pre-production, even if it only lasts for one season (which is highly possible dependant on its success), $150 million for a single season shows the level of faith that Netflix might have in their latest video game adaptation.
However it must be stated that these reports are currently unconfirmed by either Netflix or Bethesda, so the rumours must be taken with a pinch of salt at this time.
Netflix is certainly no stranger to video game to movie/series adaptations because we already have the aforementioned The Witcher, as well as animes based upon Castlevania and Dragon’s Dogma.

Not to mention that there are two Resident Evil series in production from Netflix along with Assassin’s Creed, Devil May Cry and Splinter Cell to name but a few.
