Rumours Say Game Of Thrones Author Is Involved In Next FromSoftware Game

Game of Thrones author George R. R. Martin is no stranger to creating lore-filled worlds, rich with history, content and depth. He created one of the most beloved fictional universes of all time, and he’s not shy when it comes to killing off your favourite characters. All in all, he’s basically the embodiment of FromSoftware, the developer of the Dark Souls and Bloodborne games.

If he and FromSoftware actually got together for a new game, they’d have a sure-fire hit on their hands, and that’s exactly what a new rumour is suggesting.

PushSquare reports that the rumour has come from Doctor_Cupcakes and the YouTube channel Spawn Wave, who both claim the collaboration is for a “new open-world IP.”

They also go on to claim that Martin is one of the writers of the project which will see you steal the abilities of leaders in a fictional world governed by various kingdoms. They also cite an E3 2019 announcement.

Really, it was only a matter of time before Martin’s hallowed name would eventually be used in the same sentence as Soulsborne series creator, FromSoftware, but this rumour is incredibly, incredibly unlikely to be happening.

Martin has infamously yet to complete writing the Game of Thrones novels despite the TV adaptation coming to a close in the coming weeks – is he really likely to be taking on writing a game?! We just want the next book!

PushSquare has branded the rumour as “bonkers,” adding: “It’s a load of rubbish. It has to be, surely?”

What do you think of the claims? Would you like to see George R. R. Martin and FromSoftware work on a game together?
