The one and only Ryan Reynolds is celebrating the upcoming release of Detective Pikachu in the only way he knows how – by taking the p*ss out of YouTube Get Ready With Me videos.
The Pikachu star has uploaded the ‘secrets’ to his Pikachu transformation in a hilarious video to promote the movie.

Turns out all you need to turn yourself into the loveable pocket monster is some sort of skin-safe pen to dot your face and a big-budget Hollywood animation studio. See? So easy, you can do it at home. Sort of.

Ryan Reynolds isn’t the only one getting excited for the Detective Pikachu cinematic release.
In celebration of the upcoming movie, Warner Bros. France has launched a web extension that’ll transform everything you look at online into Pikachu’s own Pika-Pi language.

Finally, your childhood dreams of Pika-pi-ing your way through life can now be a reality, and it’s just getting us more and more hyped for the release of the upcoming movie.
The movie is the first live-action Pokemon adventure, and its official description reads: “The story begins when ace private eye Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry’s former Pokémon partner, Detective Pikachu: a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself.
“Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City—a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokémon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world—they encounter a diverse cast of Pokémon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokémon universe.”

Detective Pikachu releases in cinemas worldwide, May 10.
