There’s been lots of new information released recently about the upcoming next-generation console from Sony, which is most likely going to be called the PlayStation 5.
Of all the news hitting the headlines about the console, the PS5’s “special sauce” is probably the oddest, but it’s how tech company Advanced Micro Devices has described what it knows of the console.

AMD, the company responsible for building the PlayStation 5’s computer chip, recently spoke to CNBC about its involvement in the building process, and that’s when AMD CEO Lisa Su dropped the saucy news.
Su said of the PS5: “What we have done with Sony is really architect something for their application, for their special sauce,
“It’s a great honor for us. We’re really excited about what the next generation PlayStation will do.”

Naturally, the internet was pretty amused at Su’s choice of words. Over on Twitter, the comment soon became something of a meme.
One Twitter user said of the news: “I hope it’s the same stuff they put in Big Macs,” which sparked a debate on how much the PlayStation 4 looks like a sandwich.
One Sony fan joked: “I hope this leads to Phil Spencer trying to steal the secret sauce from Sony headquarters.”
The last few weeks have seen a slew of new information released about the upcoming console.
PS5 architect Mark Cerny has confirmed that the next Sony console will be backwards compatible (at least with PS4 games), it’s going to have an “appealing” price point and it’s not going to be coming in the next 12 months, but is still expected to release in 2020.

With Sony ducking out of its usual E3 press conference this year, it’s going to be interesting to see how it chooses to unveil more details about the new console.
