Mental Health Support In Gaming

Safe In Our World was established to try to remove the stigma around mental health. It has established a Discord called Safer Together with over 600 members from around the world. There are actually even more giveaways happening there.

It has also created a bespoke training course for community managers in the gaming subculture, to help identify and support those with mental health issues. It also works with gaming companies to improve working environments through its Level Up Mental Health programme.

Speaking about its second anniversary, the chair of Safe In Our World, writes:

‘The environment around us all is challenging, but as a games industry, dedicated to creating worlds for people to escape into, it has never been more important to safeguard, both physically and mentally, the people who make or partake in these worlds.

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day 2021 is taking place on Sunday 10 October. It’s a worldwide awareness day that was established back in 1992, designed to reduce stigma and signpost to places where you can get help.

Make sure you take good care of yourself and your mental health on Sunday and always. The last 18 months have been especially tough. Be kind to yourself.

If any of the topics discussed in this article have negatively impacted you, there are people out there who can help.
