Sloclap has recently shown off its 2022 content roadmap of free updates for Sifu, with new difficulty options being the first addition next week.
Back in February, it was confirmed that Sifu would be getting difficulty options, despite earlier claims that it wouldn’t. But now, we know when Sifu will be getting them: next week, May 3. “Check out our free content update roadmap for Sifu!” wrote Sloclap on Twitter. “At this stage, four major updates are planned – the first one will be available next Tuesday, May 3rd, along with our physical edition!”
It looks like the difficulty options will be called Student, Disciple, and Master, likely in place of easy, normal, and difficult. Oddly, Student and Master both have ticks next to them, whereas disciple has a cross.
This could mean that disciple is the standard difficulty option, with Student and Master being the new options. That would make sense as the difficulty options were compared to Metroid Dread’s additional easy and hard modes.
what else is coming up?
Also shown on the roadmap for Spring is advanced training, which isn’t clear, but could be some kind of improved tutorial. And there’s also an outfit selection feature listed, which likely just does what it says on the tin.
Summer will see the addition of advanced scoring and gameplay modifiers. There’s a list included to do with gameplay modifiers showing things like no guard, one health point, and stronger enemies.

Autumn will apparently introduce a replay editor, which will likely let you make custom clips of your fights. And there will apparently be new modifiers and outfits.
Finally in Winter, there will be a new game mode called Arenas, though it’s unclear what this might be.
