Sloclap’s Slick Kung-Fu Caper Sifu Has A Release Date

Last month, we learned that Sloclap’s unique kung-fu caper Sifu was set to release in 2022. Now, thanks to a recent announcement, we now have a solid release date for the PlayStation console exclusive.

During Gamescom’s opening event, Sloclap revealed that its age-linked adventure now has a release date of February 22nd, 2022. The “release date trailer” also features some never before seen locations and pretty cool fight scene scenarios. Basically, if you weren’t excited for this brawler before, this trailer should do the trick.

If you’re familiar with Sifu’s premise, you’ll be aware of its unique time-based progression mechanic. Not only does Sifu’s hero age with every defeat, but eventually, the protagonist will shuffle off this mortal coil. Of course, this isn’t just for metaphorical flair, as the progression quirk essentially acts as the game’s housing, both mechanically and narratively.

Here’s hoping Sifu’s current release date plans stick. While the ongoing pandemic has been responsible for some pretty disappointing game delays, the industry seems to be adjusting to new measures and work practices.
