Sony Might Be Creating A PlayStation Controller For Mobile Phones

Sony has filed a patent for a PlayStation mobile controller, which might indicate that the device might soon be on the way.

As spotted by mp1st, the PlayStation mobile controller looks similar to the ones that we have already seen from the likes of Razer and Nacon. However, if this controller comes to fruition, we’ll have the added comfort of the PlayStation controller set-up.

The images revealing the design of the PlayStation mobile controller looks to be inspired by the DualShock 4 rather than the PS5’s DualSense. Presumably, the controller handles will stretch out allowing you to place your mobile phone in a vice-like grip.

At this time details are very vague. However, it’s likely that this device will have Bluetooth connectivity and a USB-C. But that’s just a guess on my part. If Sony releases this mobile controller, it will be also interesting to see if the design is adapted to resemble the more recent DualSense along with some of its features.

The PS3, PS4 and PS5 all feature Remote Play, allowing you to play certain games from your library on mobile devices. Sure, there are other devices that allow you to play games with a controller like a grip, but it will be nice to play games streamed from your PlayStation console with the familiarity of this patent design.
