Spider-Man’s Mystery Villain Accidentally Revealed During Interview

The new Spider-Man game is merely weeks away, but one thing we were yet to find out was who the villain was going to be.

Well, wonder no more as one of the voice actors accidentally let it slip during an interview.

The interview has been deleted, however this is the Internet. Of course it’s been recorded.

Yup, Doctor Octopus. Amazing.

The full map of the new Spider-Man game was recently revealed – and it’s huge.

Featured on Reddit, fans were quick to comment.

One user wasn’t convinced that this is the full map, and reckons it’s even bigger,. They wrote: “This isn’t the full map. It’s the demo map (they say so several times and they actually run on to the demo’s fence a few times). We don’t know the actual scope of the map yet, but it’s a safe bet that it’s much larger than what’s shown in this screenshot. After all, Peter Parker lives in Queens.”

However, another user rejected this comment, saying: “The playable area is represented by the outline, the whole of manhattan is the full map this is confirmed. You will only be able to play in manhattan in this game.”

This comes after new footage was released of the newest Spider-man game. This game looks like the polished and fluid version of everyones favourite Spider-man game – Spiderman 2.

Insomniac announced the new Spider-Man game at E3 2016, and has since been confirmed to be a standalone experience not directly attached to any new Spider-Man movies. This will give the game a lot more freedom to explore whatever it wants and doesn’t have to be shoe horned into an already existing story.

The previous Spider-Man games have all followed along with the story of the films and it would be a welcomed breath of fresh air to have some such an open plot-line. This plot line could of course be inspired by some of the Spider-Man comics as they are very popular and have had many different storylines in the past.

Marvel Games creative director Bill Rosemann has said:

I think we’ve been inspired by all the different mediums that Marvel has, whether it’s film, animation, live-action, comic books, even t-shirts.

So we’re looking at everything and we’re blending it all together. But it’s standalone; all-new story, all new world. We’re always stretching, we’re always challenging, we’re always moving the characters forward.

Insomniac has said that its open world in the new Spider-Man game will be much larger than its previous games. Judging by the footage at the top of this article, they weren’t messing.
