Nintendo has revealed the release date for the upcoming Splatoon 3 on Nintendo Switch.
Splatoon 3 was first announced with a teaser trailer in a Nintendo Direct from last February. It briefly revealed gameplay that looked very similar to the first two games, but also showed off some new weapons and abilities. It also has a new redesign, emphasising apocalyptic visuals while still retaining the original games’ funky aesthetic.
Now, Nintendo has revealed when Splatoon 3 will be available for Nintendo Switch. The game’s release date will be 9th September, 2022. So that’s not a long wait to play the sequel to this much-loved series!
Splatoon 3 release date revealed!
Splatoon 3 will have singleplayer and multiplayer modes, with some returning from previous games. One mode that has been confirmed to be coming back is the popular Salmon Run: The Next Wave co-op mode from the second game. However, we should get more confirmation soon on what else is returning.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is also set to release a new Mario Strikers game this year, as well as Switch Sports and Xenoblade Chronicles 3. So it’s a pretty exciting time to be a Nintendo fan!
