When it comes to memes and meme culture there’s no-one more impressive than the one and only SpongeBob Squarepants. Everyone’s favourite Nickelodeon sponge and his pals have been the focus of countless memes now, and you’ll soon be able to emulate them all yourself thanks to Snapchat.
A new series of filters has been unveiled this week, and they’ll allow you to transform into some of the most iconic memes on the internet [via ComicBook].
The filters include the likes of Imaginaaation SpongeBob, Surprised Patrick, Handsome Squidward and SpongeGar to name just a few.
While some Snapchat users will automatically find the new SpongeBob icon on their smart device, you might need to prompt it into existence. If you want to try the filters out you can scan the code on the official Snapchat website right here.
Speaking of SpongeBob, the newest addition to the always-fabulous Nickelodeon games is now nearly here.
The highly-anticipated SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated is due to release next month, and it’s looking incredible so far. The game’s official description reads as follows:
“Are you ready, kids? The cult classic is back, faithfully remade in spongetastic splendor! Play as SpongeBob, Patrick and Sandy and show the evil Plankton that crime pays even less than Mr. Krabs. Want to save Bikini Bottom from lots of rampant robots? Of course you do! Want to underpants bungee jump? Why wouldn’t you! Want to join forces in a brand new multiplayer mode? The battle is on!”
