New Life Is Strange To Be Revealed During Upcoming Square Enix Event

Square Enix is launching its own online event in the form of Square Enix Presents, a showcase of game reveals and updates that will air regularly throughout the year. Along with the announcement came the news that a new Life is Strange is on the way, and will be revealed properly during the first event.

The event sounds similar to the likes of Sony’s State of Play and the Nintendo Direct, which are used in place of traditional platforms like E3.

Square Enix’s take on the online event format will comprise of a 40-minute livestream, which will air on YouTube and Twitch.

The first edition of Square Enix Presents will feature news about the upcoming Life is Strange sequel, which will have a new protagonist armed with new powers.

The Square Enix showcase will also focus on other franchises like Outriders, Marvel’s Avengers, Balan Wonderworld, Tomb Raider and Just Cause. Tomb Raider is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, so Square Enix likely has something up its sleeve.

Perhaps the company will announce the Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy, which leaked onto the Microsoft Store earlier this month. The event could also shed some light on the next Tomb Raider game, which will apparently unify Lara Croft’s timeline.

Lara has changed a lot over the years. It’ll be interesting to see how they merge her 90s persona with the current enduring survivalist.

While there’s no mention of any Final Fantasy-related content on the event’s bill, there’s still a chance that Square Enix could surprise us. This is the company’s first dedicated online showcase, so they’ll want to make an impression with viewers. That being said, perhaps Square Enix has no information to share yet.

Final Fantasy games typically have long development cycles, so games like Final Fantasy 16 might still be in early production. Square Enix also previously revealed new Final Fantasy 7 Remake content at Sony’s State of Play, so it’s unlikely that we’ll hear more about that at the company’s own event.

Square Enix Presents will air on Square Enix’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. It takes place 18th of March 2021.
