Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is officially getting PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, and the release window has now been revealed.
Since the launch of the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles at the end of 2020, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has been one of the last-gen games that has benefitted the most.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order already looks stunning and runs smoothly on the PS4 and Xbox One, but with an increased resolution and super-slick framerate, a good game instantly became even better.
However, fans have been calling for a native next-gen version for some time. After all, if a last-gen game can look this good while being played on a new-gen console, just imagine how much better it would be with native next-gen support.
Thankfully the Force has heard the cries from the Padawans, and it has been announced that PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order are on the way.
The news of the next-gen game was announced on the EA Star Wars Twitter account. “ICYMI: The next-gen release of #StarWarsJediFallenOrder will be launching this summer!” read the tweet.
The tweet also confirmed that current owners of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be gifted with a free upgrade to the new version when the game launches for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
While no details of exactly what the next-gen versions will bring, the same tweet stated that they will include “a number of technical improvements to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S console versions.”
The tweet also promised that more details will be coming soon. Seeing as it’s Star Wars Day on Tuesday May 4th, I think it’s safe to assume that all will be revealed on that celebratory day.
As an added bonus, it was also announced on StarWars.com that the standard and Deluxe Edition of Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order currently has up to 70% off the RRP on the digital stores.
So if you want a next-gen game a little cheaper, now might the ideal time to buy Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ahead of its PS5 and Xbox Series X|S launch this summer.
