Star Wars Outlaws Release Date – Everything We Know So Far

The 2023 Xbox Summer Games Fest announced Star Wars Outlaws which is billed to be the “first-ever open-world Star Wars game” according to Ubisoft.

After an exciting weekend of game showcases, one highlight has to be the upcoming Star Wars Outlaws developed and published by Ubisoft.

The announcement was accompanied by a trailer showing the game’s protagonist alongside news that this would be the first open-world Star Wars game.

With April this year being dedicated to Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and all the hype that came with it, it seems hard to believe we are yet to have an open-world game dedicated to the franchise. However, that is soon going to change.

Star Wars Outlaws – What We Know So Far

So far, we know that the game will be set between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. With Empire releasing in 1980 and Jedi in 1983, it appears that Ubisoft is taking the franchise back to its roots. This also means the game will be set during a time where the Empire is at their strongest.

We also saw our first look at protagonist Kay Vess who we first see gambling in a shady bar. “If I want to survive, I have to play their game,” she says before bailing at the sight of men who seem to be after her. It appears as though she’s going to be an interesting character.

Star Wars Outlaws Release Date

With the game being announced for the first time this weekend, a solid release date will be a way off. However, Ubisoft says we can expect it sometime during 2024 and it will be released for PC and Xbox Series X/S.

Additionally, we will see more information about RPG during today’s Ubisoft Forward event.
