Yesterday saw the Starfield Direct event air which was followed with news of its minimum and recommended PC specs. Here’s everything we know so far.
The PC system requirements for Bethesda’s Starfield have been announced and it looks as though players will need to dedicate a hefty amount of SSD storage to it. Following the Starfield Direct and Xbox Games Showcase, Starfield’s Steam page has been updated and features all the information you need.
So without further ado, let’s take a look at how your PC is going to run the open-world RPG.
Starfield PC system requirements
Minimum Requirements –
- OS: Windows 10 version 22H2 (10.0.19045)
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel Core i7-6800K
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 5700, NVIDIA GeForce 1070 Ti
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 125 GB SSD available space
Recommended Requirements –
- OS: Windows 10/11 with updates
- Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, Intel i5-10600K
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 125 GB SSD available space

As you can see, the minimum specs aren’t too demanding with the only issue being with the large amount of storage needed. As Starfield will need 125GB of storage, players will need an SSD in order to run it.
However, with the game not releasing until September 6, these specs may change on the official Steam page. This may be because they were not officially announced by Bethesda themselves.
Additionally, there is no news yet about performance including frame rates and quality settings for PC. We will be sure to update you when these are released.
Console Performance
Console users have received news of performance as Bethesda confirmed Starfield will be locked at 30fps on Xbox Series X/S. It will also run at 4k resolution on the Xbox Series X and 1440p on the Xbox Series S.
Starfield will launch on September 6, 2023 for Xbox Series X/S and PC.
