Stardew Valley Creator Announces New Game Update

It’s been four years since the release of role-playing, sim indie darling Stardew Valley on PC. Since then its seen very successful ports to mobile, PS Vita, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and more, and it seems with each platform release, it gains a new legion of loyal fans.

With its continued and ever-growing success, the support for the game keeps on coming, and to celebrate the game’s fourth birthday, creator and developer ConcernedApe has announced via his Twitter account that the indie game will be receiving even more content.

He tweeted to his many followers: “Thanks everyone for the Stardew Valley 4-year anniversary wishes. It’s been a pleasure, and I look forward to another great year! Now that 1.4 is out on all intended platforms, I’d like to announce that there will be another free content update (1.5)..it’s currently in the works!”

Eric Barone stated that it’s been a pleasure working on his game and that he’s looking forward to another great year. 

In somewhat-related news, Barone recently announced that multiple new games are in the works – and they’ll even be set in the same universe as Stardew!

The exciting news on Twitter, where he admitted to a curious fan that a Stardew Valley “universe” is actually the plan for the future.

n response to a question about the potential of more games set in the SV world, Barone told his followers: “Yes, I’m actually working on a couple of new projects.”

He went on to offer some details on the projects, explaining: “One takes place in the world of Stardew Valley, but is not a farming game. The other, I’m not 100% sure about the world yet, but it will tie into Stardew Valley in some way.”
