Charming farming game, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, is launching on Nintendo Switch next month, but it’s now been confirmed a PC port is also in the works. Hooray!

It’s great news for classic Harvest Moon fans, as Story of Seasons: FoMT is a 2020 revamp of the 2003 Game Boy title, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town. (Licensing issues means the game can’t have the HM name, but it’s there in spirit).
If you’ve never played a Harvest Moon game then you’ll be pleased to know that the series pretty much kicked off the whole farming/life sim genre, which now includes games like Stardew Valley and My Time At Portia.

In Friends of Mineral Town, your job is to get your newly-inherited local farm up and running. Not only will you have livestock to tend to and plants to grow, but you’ll also need to forage, gather, mine and – of course – fall in love. There’s also crafting, fishing and cooking to get stuck into, as well as community events to share with your townsfolk.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town’s official description reads as follows: “Your farming life begins in Mineral Town, a charming village surrounded by nature. You’ve returned after many years to restore your late grandfather’s farm to its former glory. Care for crops, livestock, and more as your very own story of seasons unfolds…

“A menagerie of fruits, veggies, and livestock are waiting for you. Raise them all with love and care, and you’ll have plenty of products to harvest, sell, or cook with.
“Mineral Town is full of friendly faces, both old and new! Head into town, give gifts, and learn all about your neighbors as you befriend them.”

Developed by XSEED Games, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town launches on Nintendo Switch and Steam, July 14 2020. Wishlist it here.
