The latest offering from Respawn and EA, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, has been impressing players left, right and centre, but that doesn’t mean it’s free from bugs.
One bug in particular has been causing outrage for the community as it’s been leaving players stranded and having to restart the game to get back into the action.
Jedi: Fallen Order encourages exploration and the revisiting of various planets in the game in order to level up your abilities, but if you happen to delve into an area that you don’t have the ability for…well, you’re in trouble.
Lots of players have been reporting that exploring without the proper skills has left them trapped and stranded in various locations, and the only way to get back out of such a situation is by restarting. Sadly, this can result in a lot of backtracking depending on the last time you saved the game.
One of these treacherous locations is Dathomir [via Kotaku]. This is one of the many areas that you can visit pretty early on in the game, but there’s not too much to do until you’ve gotten the relevant Force powers. Areas of Dathomir have been designed with this in mind – including a chasm that shouldn’t be crossable without the use of the Double Jump move. Unfortunately, players have been discovering it’s entirely possible to break on through – though it does “break” the game.
This is just one example of the game-breaking bug, and it’s not gone unnoticed by players. The EA Help forums are currently flooded with complaints of the issue.
One player writes: “Contacted support to be told that I’d need to wait for a patch and to raise the issue on here..£69.99 for a preorder. Not best pleased I need to wait or start again…shame on you EA!”
Another adds: “It’s such an obvious fix, I mean why doesn’t this game already have a fast travel facility! Think I’m going to have to start again, which is frustrating as I already have some cool stuff.”
At the time of writing, Respawn has yet to release an official statement on the bug in question. Here’s hoping a patch is on the way sooner rather than later!
