Super Mario 64 is one of the best, brightest and bounciest games of all time, and it’s still getting love from its wholly-devoted fanbase.
The Nintendo classic title has now been recreated inside the one and only Super Mario Odyssey [via Kotaku], and of course, it looks glorious.

Entitled (yep, you guessed it), Super Mario 64 Odyssey, the game is being created by a team of dedicated modders and Nintendo fans who are tackling every single level of the classic Nintendo 64 title, adding the one and only Cappy.
Yep, in Super Mario 64 Odyssey Cappy will be joining you on your travels, offering some of the powers he/she/it offers in the Nintendo Switch title. There’ll also be new levels and expanded areas for you to explore, with lots of way to utilise Cappy’s powers in this new and exciting realm.

Check out some of the gameplay, from ItzSka over on YouTube. You can also find out more about the modding team right here on Discord.
Nintendo is notoriously protective of its IPs though, and is often quick to shut down fan projects like this…
Here’s hoping Nintendo leaves Super Mario 64 Odyssey well alone, because this is something I definitely want to get my hands on.
In other Mario news, Mario Kart for mobile has been on the cards for a while, and it looks like it’s coming sooner than we could have hoped for, with a release date of September 25th, 2019.
Entitled Mario Kart Tour, the game will be available for both iOS and Android users (thank you, Nintendo!) and should hopefully pack a pocket-sized punch.

Surprisingly, the game is played with your phone held vertically, and will see familiar racing tracks from the series alongside locations inspired by real-world locations.
According to Nintendo, the game will include “a variety of drivers, karts and gliders” for collection and upgrade.
You can pre-register for the game over on the official Nintendo Mario Kart Tour website, or over on the App Store and Google Play Store.
