If your heart shattered into a million pieces after hearing that Eggsy wouldn’t be back for the upcoming Kingsman prequel movie, you’ll be pleased to learn that Taron Egerton has seen the error of his ways and has claimed that he’s ready to do ONE last Kingsman film as his popular character. Hooray!
Now as we ALL agreed when the prequel news first dropped, a Kingman film isn’t a Kingsman film without Taron, and speaking at a panel discussion during ACE Comic-Con Midwest this weekend, Egerton confirmed a script does already exist, according to ComicBook.
Egerton said: “I’m really not allowed to say anything, but there is a script…It’s a really neat idea. That plan, at the moment, is that we’d like to do another one, one more time.
“It was the role that kind of started my film career so I’m always going to feel, you know, a great fondness for the part.”
The actor went on to add: “I would like to do one more because frankly, I’d like to say goodbye to him [Eggsy] in a befitting way and to finish the trilogy. All good things come to an end. It was always imagined as a trilogy and I think it’d be great to finish the story off because I’ve loved playing the character.”
Don’t worry, Taron. The fans have a huge soft spot for Eggsy too, and Harry (played by Colin Firth). We’d be more than happy if you both wanted to make the script even more of a reality, for just one last time.
Hey, maybe you could even kill of Harry for REAL this time. After all, it would be the end of the franchise – but just don’t kill off Eggsy because I think you’ll have a mob on your hands if you do.
What do you think, are you excited for a third Kingsman film?
