Terry Crews Also Wants To Be In Gears Of War Movie With Dave Bautista

It seems that Dave Bautista isn’t the only celebrity who’s more than a little keen to snag a role in the upcoming Gears of War movie.

The one and only Terry Crews has also spoken out about his desire to take on a role in one of the most ambitious video game adaptations of all time, and honestly, I’m all for it.

Bautista has been very vocal in wanting the world to know he wants to be in the production, even going so far as to call it his “dream role.”

As more and more people weighed in on who should (and shouldn’t) be cast, actor Stephen Ford stepped in and suggested Crews – something which Crews seems VERY on board with.

Ford took to Twitter to suggest Crews would be perfect for the role of Augustus “Cole Train” Cole.

Crews responded to the tweet saying: “I like this. I like this very much.” [via TheGamer].

Now that’s a Gears of War movie that I’d definitely be down for!

Bautista, who’s desperate to nab the role of Marcus Fenix, would be great alongside Crews’ Cole Train. There’s just one little problem with the dream casting…

It’s been announced that the Gears of War movie will be telling its own story, and will be set in a different alternate reality to the games, meaning fan-favourite characters might not be appearing on the silver screen.

Gears of War top dog Rod Fergusson recently spoke with IGN about the upcoming film, which will be a “movie first” and a Gears movie second.

“In order for the movie to be successful, it has to be a great movie first and a Gears movie second,” said Fergusson at the time. “Basically the way that we sort of reconciled that was, we said, ‘oh the movie should be an alternate reality. It should not be dependent on the game story, nor should it influence the game story.’”
