The Binding of Isaac is getting a new expansion, but unlike its previous DLC, this time it’s big enough to almost be considered a sequel.

Announcing the news on social media, developer Edmund McMillen revealed the official Steam page for the new expansion, entitled The Binding of Isaac: Repentance.
“Today is the nine year anniversary of the binding of Isaac, and to celebrate we are unveiling the steam page for the final sequel sized expansion REPENTANCE!! Go wish list it!” tweeted McMillen.
Delivering all the content from Rebirth, Afterbirth and Afterbirth+, Repentance promises to be the “ultimate” edition for fans of Isaac and his basement-dwelling struggles.
“The game is currently over 90% done,” said McMillen in a blog post. “I’ve been working closely with the team to ensure that this is the ‘Sequel DLC’ you’ve always wanted. The team has gone above and beyond and we’re really proud of how the game is coming together and I have a feeling you’re gunna sh*t your *sses when you get your hands on it.”
Over on the new Steam page, the game’s official description teases just how big this game really is, confirming it’s a little too large to be considering your average expansion.

“It’s a game too big to be called a sequel: Repentance takes Isaac to new heights of roguelike dungeon adventure, as the brave boy descends into the basement for his greatest challenge yet,” says the description.
“Isaac’s new quest takes him to unknown places he’s never been, filled with horrible new enemies and bosses, weapon combos you’ve never synergized before and items he’s never seen… unholy terrors from his wildest dreams and worst nightmares!”

There’s no word yet on whether or not Repentance will be coming to console, but PC is a great start.
