Sony has given the world a first look at the game box design for the upcoming PlayStation 5 and (unsurprisingly) the internet has a lot of thoughts about it.

As you can see, the box is looking pretty slick, sticking with the simple black and white that both the console and the DualSense controller have been sporting. The one key difference here is the blue plastic of the game case itself, which lots of gamers have been taking issue with.
Many players have responded to the reveal calling for a simple white case over the blue, which I assume is in place because of the blue lighting that the PS5 will have.
From the fan-made mock-ups, I definitely prefer the white/transparent casing over the blue, but what do I know?

Aside from that criticism, the fan response to the reveal has been overwhelmingly positive, with thousands praising the look of the game case. Of course, it’s a game case, so it was unlikely to reveal anything too surprising and/or controversial.

The PlayStation 5 is due to land on store shelves later this year, with a current release window of Holiday 2020. Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be coming late 2020, suggesting it’s set to be one of the launch titles for the console.
Speaking of the upcoming game, Insomniac said the following: “At Insomniac Games, we’ve loved the character of Miles Morales for a long time. It started years ago, when Bryan Intihar (Creative Director, Marvel’s Spider-Man), suggested that we should have Miles Morales be a part of the same universe as Peter Parker. We sneakily introduced him at the end of our E3 2017 demo, surprising the audience when they thought the PlayStation Briefing was over.
“As we continued with the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe, we knew that Miles’s origin story as a Spider-Man was something that needed its own game. Miles’s multicultural background reflects a more modern, diverse world and we wanted to give players a new story, with new set-pieces, fresh villains, and unique quests across Marvel’s New York City. This had to be a can’t-miss next adventure in the Marvel’s Spider-Man universe.”
