The Last Of Us 2 Could Be As Large As Red Dead Redemption 2

The Last Of Us 2 is the only thing on my mind right now, and it should really be the only thing on your mind too because today is Outbreak Day! Happy Outbreak day!

Naughty Dog will be marking the occasion in style later today, but for now let’s take a look at some very interesting information noticed following the announcement of the game’s February release date.

As shown on Twitter by Wario64, the listing for The Last of Us Part II shows the game will be shipping on two discs, meaning that when Naughty Dog says it’s their biggest game ever, they’re definitely not kidding around.

Shipping on two discs is actually a pretty big deal, as it gives us a little hint as to just how large the game might be.

The best comparison we can make is with Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2 which also launched on two discs and is also a narrative-driven game just like TLOU.

How Long To Beat has RDR2 pegged at just over 40 hours average completion time for the main story, jumping up to 158 hours for a completionist playthrough.

The first The Last of Us is currently standing at around 15 hours completion time for the main story, rising to 22 hours for a completionist playthrough.

Of course, we don’t know just how big TLOU2’s world will be just yet, but it’s definitely seeming like it could be absolutely enormous compared to the first game…

The Last of Us Part II officially launched on February 21, 2020. Isn’t that a great sentence? It just rolls off the tongue. February 21, 2020.

ICYMI check out the latest trailer for the game below, shown earlier this week during Sony’s State of Play.
