Call of Duty: Modern Warfare might be looking great, but it seems as though the game might be holding onto some very dark secrets.
According to a recent leak, the upcoming game might be including exclusive weapons hidden behind the paywall that is supply drops, meaning microtransactions could be a pretty huge thing in MW.
The leak comes from a fairly reliable source who correctly predicted information about the game before it was announced. The Gaming Revolution [via Dexerto] has claimed that CoD’s “fair system” has now gone, instead opting for supply drops that contain everything from weapons to emotes.
On Twitter, The Gaming Revolution complains: “Who wants 300+ emotes in supply drops, who wants 500+ titles, who wants over 200 sprays in supply drops. YAYAYAYAYAYYA.
“Weapons are coming too, forget any cosmetic only malarkey.”
If true, the news will be another hard blow for Call of Duty fans who aren’t going to play MW on PlayStation 4.
We’ve known for some time now that Sony managed to snag an exclusivity deal for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but we now know exactly what PlayStation gamers will be getting over everyone else.
According to the most recent Sony State of Play announcements, Modern Warfare PS4 will have access to the Spec Ops Survival mode for a whole year, with Xbox One and PC gamers not getting to play it until 1st October 2020.
It’s left a lot of gamers very disappointed, with many claiming the exclusivity deal has turned them off from picking up the game at all.
Has your opinion on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare changed since it was first announced? Will you be picking it up at launch?
