The Outer Worlds Has Been Beaten In Less Than 25 Minutes

The Outer Worlds launched to critical success late last month, with everyone and their mums celebrating the RPG for its classic style, immersive feel and absorbing gameplay. Of course, it’s not taken long at all for the speedrunning community to want to get stuck into the action too.

Although the How Long To Beat website has The Outer Worlds pegged at around 19 hours to complete a general playthrough, and 31 hours for a completionist run, one player has managed to find a way to beat the game in less than 25 minutes. Prepare yourselves: this is very impressive stuff!

Twitch streamer and YouTuber It’s Jabo shared the following video to his channel [via PCGamer], in which you can see him take on – and beat – the game in what has to be record time.

In the video description, It’s Jabo writes: “SPOILER ALERT —

“So this run utilises a lot of new tricks, first of all, we have the jump at the start of Monarch that skips running around the entire level – this saves around 90 seconds but makes fighting in the later sections a little bit harder as we are unable to get the revolver Mk2.

“Second off, the ending for the run is much different – it was discovered that there’s a (Dumb) ending that see’s you, the player, take the 0 intelligence attribute and fly the ship of the Hope straight into the sub, killing yourself and everyone on board. This skips the later sections of the run, saving around 2-3 minutes. All in all, a pretty good run, sub 25 has been crushed, now on to sub 24/23.”

Go show It’s Jabo some love for this amazing feat!

The Outer Worlds is available now on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and the Epic Games Store.
