The Sims 4 Introduces Kits: Tiny, Tailored DLC Packs

The Sims 4 is changing the way DLC works with the introduction of Kits! Smaller than a Stuff Pack, but offering a more tailored experience, Kits can consist of Create-A-Sim items, Buy items or Gameplay additions, each with a specific theme.

The new Kits have kicked off with three brand new DLC packs, one of which is just downright dirty!

The three new Kits are Throwback Fit, Country Kitchen, and Bust the Dust. Each has a fairly low price of £4.99/$4.99 USD, and are available to buy now!

So what exactly do these three pieces of new DLC bring to your Sims 4 experience? Well, Country Kitchen will add new décor to your kitchen with vintage cabinets, a refrigerator, casserole dishes, counters, clutter, and more.

Throwback Fit adds 90s-inspired fashion accessories and clothing for your sims. The Kit includes nostalgic tracksuits and exercise gear, with bold colours and patterns for the stylish Sim that loves to celebrate the decade of the 1990s.

Finally, Bust the Dust will add new Aspirations, rewards, and gameplay elements to The Sims 4. In Bust the Dust, dust bunnies can invade your home and you can do whatever any good Simmer would do: pick up the vacuum and clean up your house like your life depended on it! Or you could just ignore it and live the messy life. This has its benefits, as befriending the dust bunnies has its own lucrative rewards.

I’ve seen some fans online asking why this content can’t be added via a free update and I think it’s a fair question to ask. However, each piece of Kits DLC is quite cheap, and will allow Simmers to buy just the content they want without needing to fork out for pack elements they won’t use.

Kits will also bridge some of the longer gaps between new Stuff, Game and Expansion Packs. Though the initiative kicks off with the release of three Kits, future releases will come one at a time.
