The Sims 4 Update Introduces Personality Quizzes To Create-A-Sim

A brand-new update for The Sims 4 has just landed, and EA has introduced a few new features to the classic title.

A range of new Create-A-Sims items (or at least, one new hair and some recolours) along with a new look for the iconic Plumbob, plus a new cheat to unlock Build Mode items have definitely impressed players.

In a recent livestream on Twitch, some of The Sims 4 developers got together to dish the dirt on the update, and a change to how you’ll be able to create your Sims caught everyone’s attention.

As explained in the video below [via PCGamer], the new update also introduces personality quizzes for the first time. These determine your Sims’ personality traits by asking a bunch of questions about your preferences and ideals. It’ll add a lot more backstory to your new family, if you’re into that sort of thing (and I definitely am).

No longer will you have to hand-pick (or randomise) the traits of your Sims, as you’ll instead be able to take a 10-question quiz that’ll ask things like “What’s most important to me when selecting a place to live?” or “What’s your ideal weekend plan?”

By asking Sim-related questions pertaining to the character you want to create, the quiz will assign the relevant traits for you. Want to live the high life? Expect a Sim with more expensive taste. Hate bugs? Expect a ‘Squeamish’ Sim.

Excitingly, you’ll be able to use the quiz feature to randomise a career for your Sim based on their personality, and you’ll FINALLY have variables when it comes to how much money they start their lives with – without using a cheat box. Hooray!

Questions can be replaced if you think they might not apply to your Sim, and there are pack-specific questions so you’ll need to own them all to see them all, because this is EA.

Thankfully for those Simmers who don’t like change, you’ll still be able to create your Sim in the traditional way that we all know and love.

What do you think about the new update?
