After months of speculation it’s been confirmed that a new Tony Hawk game is releasing this year. Sharing the news on Twitter, the professional skater shared what looks like the cover art for Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2.
According to a press release, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be available worldwide as the standard edition, a digital deluxe version which includes unique content and in-game gear, and for the ultimate fan, a collector’s edition which comes complete with the digital deluxe content and a limited-run Birdhouse deck.
The press release also states the following: “Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2will blend all the original levels, pro-skaters, old-school tricks and more that gamers remember from the ‘90s and ‘2000s with new, beautifully recreated levels. This faithful remaster will also include blockbuster songs from the original franchise.”
“The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater series is a big factor in the evolution of modern skateboarding tricks and inspiring many of the pro skaters you know and love today,” said Tony Hawk.
“I’m excited to help inspire a new generation of skateboarders and gamers – and existing fans – to grow the sport even further.”
In a follow up tweet, he added: “#THPS is back! Original maps, original skaters, and songs from the original soundtrack… plus new features. Thanks to all the fans of our series for keeping this dream alive.”
Just last week, pro skater Jason Dill became the second professional skater to say the game was coming this year.
Speaking with The Nine Club podcast, Dill told host Chris Roberts that the new game is coming, though he didn’t mention when other than 2020. He said:
“Did you guys know there’s a new Tony Hawk Pro Skater coming out in 2020?…I made sure to add my board to the boards you can pick, because I wanted to be in that sh*t too somehow!”

Dropping in on September 4, 2020, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 and 2 will return remastered in one awesome package for PlayStation® 4, PlayStation® 4 Pro, the family of Xbox One devices from Microsoft, including the Xbox One X, and on PC through the Epic platform.
