Top Games out this December 2017

So with that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of games and DLC that maybe worth your time this December.

DOOM VFR (PC and PS4)

Release Date: December 1st

The rebooted and quite fantastic Doom graced our consoles and PC last year, but now in the age of virtual reality, we can play this modern classic in an entirely new perspective. If your stomach can handle the fast pace and frantic gore-fest that Doom has to offer in VR, at a budget around £20-$30, this could be quite the party offering, though I wouldn’t recommend placing the headset on your granny for this one.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Nintendo Switch)

Release Date: December 1st

It’s certainly been a great debut year for the Nintendo Switch, and following the likes of Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 2, Mario + Rabbids and Super Mario Odyssey, we have Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Set within the endless ocean of the clouds, this action role-playing game with its Japanese heritage might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if the word on the street is anything to go by, Nintendo could be seeing out the year with yet another classic in 2017.

Fallout 4 VR (PC)

Release Date: December 12th

Unlike the previous version that released in November 2015, the wastelands are now yours to explore in glorious VR. Sadly, this one won’t be coming to PS4 just yet, but it will be available via Steam PC. Hopefully if this version of the game proves to be a success, we might one day see a console release.

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package (PS4)

Release Date: December 5th

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package on PS4 will come with not only all previously released DLC and additional difficulty settings, but it will also come bundled with the new Capcom Heroes mode, where Frank will be able to Cosplay as some of Capcom’s mightiest heroes equipped with their super powers! Owners of Dead Rising 4 on PC and Xbox One fear not, as you will be getting Capcom Heroes via a free update.

Okami HD (PC, PS4 and Xbox One)

Release Date: December 12th

Originally releasing on the PlayStation 2 back in 2006, and then remastered for PlayStation 3 in 2012, Capcom will yet again be gracing us with another remaster featuring the legendary white wolf. To be honest, even if you go back and play the original PS3 version today, Okami still holds up pretty well with its gorgeous Sumi-e ink art style. However, with this most recent remaster, it will now be gracing PC, PS4 and Xbox One. So if you missed out on this much loved adventure, now be the perfect time to see what all the woof (sorry, fuss) is about.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series Collection (PS4 and Xbox One)

Release Date: December 5th

This collection will include seasons one, two and three, as well as the spin-off 400 Days and the three-part mini-series that follows the tale of fan-favourite Michonne. The seasons leading up to next year’s conclusion, follows the story of a once young Clementine, to a hardened young adult that has been forced to adapt to this cruel world in order to survive. Even with its upgraded visuals, this collection will offer little to fans that have already played The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series, but it could offer memories to last a life-time for new comers.

LocoRoco 2 Remastered (PS4)

Release Date: December 9th

In this harmonic, side-scrolling platformer, you must guide the LocoRoco’s as their world is under attack by the sinister Moja Corps, as they eat, roll, sing and bounce their way to the end of each level, like their lives depended on it! LocoRoco 2 will be remastered with beautiful 1080p visuals for PS4 and even on 4K for those that own a PS4 Pro and 4K UHD TV.

Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (Xbox One)

Release Date: December 12th

For what can only be described as a gaming phenomenon for gamers and streamers alike on PC, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds is finally coming to console on Xbox One. This PvP shooter which can host up to 100 players in a single battle royal! Whether you play solo or with a group of squadrons, this last one standing multiplayer mayhem could be one of the most fun shooters you’ll play in the next 12 months and beyond. Hopefully, we’ll see a PS4 release one day soon.
With some many video games to release this December, it’s perhaps easy to forget that we have some DLC for the games we already own, so here are some notable mentions.

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris (PC, PS4 and Xbox One)

Release Date: December 5th

The first major expansion will release for Destiny 2 with Curse of Osiris on December 5th, offering a new story, missions, strikes, a Raid, gear, the planet Mercury to explore and much more!
