Ubisoft has spoken up about its huge new game, Watch Dogs: Legion, and how it’ll fare against CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077.
During its financial conference call for investors and analysts. company execs were asked how confident they feel with Cyberpunk 2077‘s release date, which has been revealed to be April 16 2020.

Watch Dogs: Legion is due out just a month before Cyberpunk, with a release date of March 6 2020.
However, though those dates might seem uncomfortably close for players, it’s actually something that Ubisoft is pleased about – because it means Watch Dogs: Legion will be launching in the Q4 window whereas Cyberpunk won’t be.
Chief Financial Officer Frédérick Duguet said [via Twinfinite] that it’s “good news that Cyberpunk is not in the quarter,” but admitted the company will remain cautious, as the CD Projekt Red title is expected to provide some stiff competition.

In the same meeting Ubisoft called its E3 2019 unveiling of the new Watch Dogs game a “fantastic reveal,” believing it’s a “good reflection of all the potential of the games and the potentially strong competition.”
The game’s official description reads: “It’s time to take back London, and virtually anyone you see in this iconic city can be recruited to your resistance. The people are being oppressed by corrupt opportunists and it’s up to you to build a resistance to give the city back to the people.

“With an entire population of potential recruits and the city’s technology at your fingertips, you’ll need to hack, infiltrate, and fight your way to a liberated London. Welcome to the Resistance.”
As for Cyberpunk 2077, it’s going to be a game on most people’s most-wanted lists for 2020.
Set in a dystopian future, Cyberpunk will feature a huge and sprawling world inhabited by lawless folks with a passion for body modification.
