Hyper Scape, the Ubisoft 100-player battle royale flop, has been scrapped. The short-lived battle royale was only released in 2020.
After just 18 months following its release, Hyper Scape is being thrown onto the scrap heap. In the back of our minds, we probably all knew that Ubisoft’s shooter was doomed to fail. To be honest, I totally forgot it even existed until now.
Hyper Scape always seemed like it was a battle royale that was following the thread. Almost as if Ubisoft was throwing mud at the wall to see what would stick. Furthermore, it’s proof of how difficult it is to catch lightning in the battle when it comes to the battle royale genre.
Announced on the Hyper Scape social media channels, servers for the failed shooter will shut down on April 28th. So, if you’re one of the last few players remaining, you have three months left before the Ubisoft shooter closes down for good.

“We have made the difficult decision to end development of Hyper Scape and shut the game down as of April 28th,” announced Ubisoft in a blog post. “We set out to create a vertical, close-quarters, and fast-paced shooter experience and we are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey.”
Goodbye contenders
The post concluded: “To the Hyper Scape community, thank you for your passion and dedication to the world of Neo Arcadia both inside and outside of the game. Your devotion to the game we built will always be cherished.”
