During your and Sam’s adventures in Scotland during Chapter 9 of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the two will be trapped inside an icy cavern with no way to move but forward. In an early part of the chapter, you will come across a puzzle that involves moving three stone wheels to line up three crosses in a specific order. If you’ve been struggling with the cross stone wheel puzzle in Uncharted 4 and need the know-how to solve it, we have a handy guide to help you along.
HOW TO SOLVE THE CROSS WHEEL PUZZLE
The cross stone wheel puzzle in Uncharted 4 appears at the beginning of Chapter 9 “Those Who Prove Worthy”. You need to interact with a lever on the left-hand side of the room. It holds the remains of a previous explorer, but luckily we won’t end up like him. Instead, the mechanism will now reveal an empty bucket. Go over to it and interact with the bucket to pick it up.
Turn around and drop down into a cold pool of water, which will allow you to fill up the bucket. Next, head over to the wall and hand it up to Sam, then climb back up yourself. Sam will fit the bucket back where it came from.
Now it’s your job to turn four wheels that will rotate different parts of the stone wheel puzzle. You need to arrange each of the three crosses as well as the bucket of water so it resembles the image as seen in Nate’s journal. We’ve popped the image below for your reference.

CROSS WHEEL PUZZLE SOLUTION
If we were to number each wheel 1-4 from left-to-right, then the right order to interact with each wheel is as follows:
Wheel 1: Turn right (x1)
Wheel 3: Turn right (x2)
Wheel 4: Turn right (x1)
Wheel 2: Turn left (x1)
Wheel 4: Turn right (x2)
Wheel 3: Turn right (x1)
If completed properly, the bucket should be at the very top of the puzzle and the three different shaped crosses will be located in the correct spots. Finally, interact with the lever located to the left of the contraption to complete the puzzle.
