Vehicles In Cyberpunk 2077 Are Called Like The Witcher 3’s Roach

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has one of the best horses known to video games. Roach is a (mostly) majestic and surprisingly useful NPC animal, and he’s as big a part of the game as Geralt himself (sort of).

Roach is summoned to your side with a whistle whenever you might need to make a getaway or if you just need some moral support, and it looks like CD Projekt Red has implemented the same summoning mechanics in its next game, Cyberpunk 2077.

Speaking with VG247 [via ComicBook], Cyberpunk‘s lead quest designer Pawel Sasko talked about the way players will call their vehicles, and how the mechanic compares to The Witcher‘s Roach.

If a player leaves their car behind, Sasko said what happens will be “the same that happens with Roach.”

“Basically, because those cars are equipped with AI, if you call it, you can see the car driving towards you. So you can see when it arrives, basically,” said Sasko.

“You can see as your motorcycle arrives, you can see as your car arrives. So you can just leave it wherever you want, it can go somewhere, just call it, and AI makes it like ‘bzzt!’, he drives by and waits for you.”

Whether or not your vehicles will end up on the roofs of nearby properties remains to be seen…

CD Projekt Red describes the game as follows: “An open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.”
