The world of competitive gaming can be a brutal one. Whether you’re into Fortnite or Overwatch, speedrunning or barrier-breaking, there’s always going to be someone on the internet who’s better, faster and stronger than you.
Breaking the top ranks of any game you play is seriously impressive, but when you’re a deaf player who manages to become one of the 500 best Overwatch players in the world? Yeah, you know you’re going to be celebrating with a win like that.
That’s exactly what happened to Twitch streamer and Overwatch fan, MaxGaming76_OW, who cracked the top 500 players and reacted to the victory, live on stream
Check out the moment MaxGaming76_OW realises he’s smashed the achievement in the video below.
On his Twitch bio, MaxGaming76_OW, a 20-year-old pro gamer from the Ukraine, writes [translated]: “Hello! My name is Maxim, I am 20 years old and I am from Ukraine. I do not hear (I am Deaf)…
“My main role is the support of flexible heroes. I started playing games since I was a child – the first game I played was Team fortress 2. Now, most of my attention is Overwatch. I am a former professional player TF2 and OW.”
His bio states that he does not speak during his streams due to him being deaf, but it’s clear to see just how much cracking the top 500 means to him.
The win is being celebrated all over social media. On Twitter, one fan expressed his joy at the clip, writing: “Today I saw a clip of [Maxim], a deaf Overwatch player/streamer, make top 500. His reaction brought the biggest smile on my face. Absolute proof to me that ANYONE with the skill and the patience to improve can make it. Hope to join you up there one of these days.”
Keep up the great work, Maxim!
