The Wolfenstein series gets a lot of love and it’s not really any surprise considering just how damn good these games are, but it’s now officially been some time since we last got a canon title in the series.
The Wolfenstein fandom were pretty happy about the announcement of a spin-off title which was revealed back at E3 this year, but people still desperately want to see Wolfenstein 3.
Luckily it seems like Blazkowicz’s story isn’t over as Bethesda’s very own Pete Hines has confirmed that yes – a Wolfenstein 3 is planned for the future.
Hooray!
Speaking to Metro, Hines revealed: “Absolutely we’re making a Wolfenstein III. They said on stage that they’re taking a break from the larger story to do [Wolfenstein: Youngblood]. But we all have to see how that ends. [laughs]”
Of course there’s not solid plans or dates in place for the third title in the series, but it’s good to know we haven’t seen the last of the Wolfenstein canon games.
As for Wolfenstein: Youngblood we can expect that sometime in 2019. Originally teased at E3 this year, the game will have you playing as BJ’s twin daughters, and it’s going to be a co-op experience rather than a single player campaign.
The official YouTube teaser for the game states: “Wolfenstein: Youngblood is a brand-new co-op game unveiled at the Bethesda BE3 Showcase 2018. The game takes place in 1980, 19 years after BJ Blazkowicz ignited the second American Revolution in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.
“Wolfenstein: Youngblood introduces the next Blazkowicz generation to the fight against the Nazis. Play as one of BJ’s twin daughters, Jess and Soph, as you search for your missing father in Nazi-occupied Paris.”
Are you excited for Wolfenstein: Youngblood, or are you more hyped for the confirmation of Wolfenstein 3?
We can’t wait for either of them tbh!
