It’s taken its sweet time coming, but the ever-iconic Wolfenstein is getting its own board game. Hooray!
The game comes from the miniature masters at Archon Studio (…as in, they’re masters of miniatures. I don’t know how tall they might or might not be).
It looks every bit as good as you’d hope, and honestly, I can’t wait to get stuck into this tabletop dungeon-crawler. It’s set to drop on Kickstarter anytime now, and with as many successfully-funded projects Archon has under its belt, it’s only a matter of time before this will be available for purchase.
The board game will be based on the newer video games as opposed to the classics, featuring elements from Wolfenstein: The New Order and Wolfenstein: The New Colossus. It won’t take place in World War 2, and instead will be in the alternate reality of the 1960s where the Nazis won WW2.
As described on the game’s website: “the objective is simple – eliminate the head of the Regime, The Fuhrer himself by any means necessary. Together with his allies, B.J. Blazkowicz will infiltrate the monumental Castle once again, killing every Nazi on their way.”
The Wolfenstein board game features dungeon-crawling gameplay with random events and is a co-op adventure for yourself and your buddies. You’ll receive more than 50 miniatures in the base game alone, and you’ll have the option to take on the entire campaign or any of the 10 missions.
Sadly there’s no release date (or price) for the board game as of yet, but you can sign up to receive emails from Archon so you can be first to find out when it drops. (There’s also a nice miniature bonus if you sign up…again, as in miniature playing piece, not a small bonus).
