Xbox Marketplace is delisting some classic games very soon

The Xbox 360 Marketplace is delisting some classic games very soon starting from 7th February this month and it includes some big hitters.

In total, Microsoft has announced it will be purging 46 video games including the likes of Assassin’s Creed, Dark Souls, Mass Effect 2 as well as The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and much more.

It’s time to say goodbye to these Xbox 360 classics

Originally reported by Game Informer, Xbox has shared the list of games that will be disappearing via its official support website. However, the list of games will vary depending on location. For example, the United States will lose the following:

  • Aegis Wing
  • Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood
  • Assassin’s Creed III
  • Assassin’s Creed IV
  • Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD
  • Blood of the Werewolf
  • Blue Dragon
  • Breakdown
  • Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare
  • Call of Duty: Ghosts
  • Castle Crashers
  • Cloning Clyde
  • Counter-Strike: GO
  • Dark Souls
  • Darksiders II
  • Daytona USA
  • Defense Grid
  • Eets: Chowdown
  • Far Cry 2
  • Final Fight: DblImpact
  • Iron Brigade
  • Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad
  • Jet Set Radio
  • Left 4 Dead

Backwards-compatible games are still available via the Xbox Marketplace

Although the above games will no longer be purchasable digitally via the Xbox 360, discs will be playable and previously downloaded versions can still be accessed. What’s more, backwards-compatible games for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S will still be available.

Beginning on February 7, 2023, a limited set of games, add-ons, and in-game content will no longer be purchasable in select markets via the Xbox 360 Store,” a spokesperson for Xbox told Gematsu. “

These titles will no longer be purchasable on the Xbox 360 Store only, and titles that are available to be purchased on the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S Stores will remain purchasable.

So as a heads up, if there were any Xbox 360 classic games that you were thinking about buying, you want to grab them from the Marketplace before it’s too late.
