YANA Charity Event To Bring 10 Million Gamers Together During Isolation

It’s been an incredibly difficult time for people all across the globe, and video games have been providing a chance to socialise, a chance to escape from reality and a chance to be a part of a community for millions of people.

The YANA (You Are Not Alone) initiative is aiming to unite 10 million gamers from all over the world in the hopes of spreading the message of care and community in an event scheduled for May 2, 2020.

Created by European esports and video games leaders, YANA aims to unite friends, families and strangers who all share a love of gaming, with fundraising and donations going to COVID-19 relief efforts.

The event will take place on May 2nd with supporting partners such as Barclays, Codemasters, Sports Interactive, Ubisoft and more.

Available to watch via both Twitch and Facebook Gaming, the official broadcasts will run from noon BST to midnight BST, and will encourages gamers from around the world to participate by sharing the tags #YANA #PlayApartTogether.

The broadcast will host sports games, casual games and competitive titles to ensure gamers of all levels can get involved with the day.

Just a few of the scheduled events include a FIFA 20 tournament hosted by Barclays, while Ubisoft will offer activities around several of their key franchises. Sports Interactive will provide Football Manager as an official title too, meaning there really is something for everyone.

Just Giving will act as the official donation platform and you will be able to select the charity of your choice for your contribution, including the likes of the Children’s Society which provides vital support for children in crisis.
