Pokémon has definitely had its tear-jerker moments over the years, and nothing scarred us more as children than the moment Ash Ketchum died in Pokémon The First Movie way back in the year 2000.
The iconic moment had us all sobbing in the movie theatres, and the look on Pikachu’s face is something I still dream about to this day.
If – for some reason – Pikachu’s heartbreak is something you never want to let go of, then you’re in luck, because he’s been remade in plushie form.
Legendary collectibles-and-plush makers, Banpresto, are releasing a new line of Poke-plushies, and Crying Pikachu has apparently made the cut…for some reason.
Perfect if you’re feeling melancholy and need a snuggle buddy, this Pikachu recreates the moment when he really though his daddy was dead. Don’t worry, he was fine in the end.
Unfortunately, the Big Mood plushie will only be sold in Taiwan, China, Singapore and the Philippines, but we can dream, right? Oh and if any of you want to sling one over to the GameByte office you’re more than welcome to.
Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution is a CG remake of the classic Pokemon The First Movie, and it looks sweet AF from what we’ve seen of it so far.
2019 is basically the year of Pokemon, thank to Mewtwo Strikes Back, Detective Pikachu and the highly-anticipated new Pokemon RPGS, Sword and Shield, which are due out in November this year.
Check out the upcoming Mewtwo movie in the trailer below.
Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution releases July 12, 2019 in Japan. Hopefully it’ll be hitting the rest of the world soon after!
