A YouTuber has quite impressively got CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077 running on a Nintendo Switch.

It’s crazy to think that with all the bad press that has plagued Cyberpunk 2077 since its December 10th launch, it’s nice to write something positive (ish) about the game for a change. (Albeit via methods that aren’t officially supported but this news is fun nonetheless, so I’ll take it).
YouTuber and avid Nintendo fan Nintendrew has shared a video of how they have gotten Cyberpunk 2077 running on a Nintendo Switch, and it runs rather well, might I add.

Firstly we must state that the methods revealed in the video to get games such as Cyberpunk 2077 and other big AAA titles running on the Switch are not officially supported, and you run the risk of bricking your console. Therefore, we don’t recommend trying this at home!
Nintendrew revealed that they got Cyberpunk 2077 to not only be fully functional with the basic Joy-Con controllers (not motion controls) but that they also got the game to run at a steady framerate of 720p handheld and 1080p docked.
As for whether or not it runs well…you’ll have to check out the feat in the video below!
To get games such as Cyberpunk 2077 running, your Nintendo Switch needs to run unofficial and unsupported software on the system.
The Nintendo Switch in the video runs off a custom Nvidia Tegra X1 processor which also powers some Android devices and – if modded successfully – you can get Google Stadia running on the hybrid console too.
Once you’ve got this software up and running you are not just restricted to just Cyberpunk 2077, because Nintendrew also reveals in their video that they’ve been playing the likes of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Destiny 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and more.

However, as mentioned earlier as awesome as this software is, it is unofficial and you will run the risk of bricking your Switch, which is why Nintendrew has two consoles. One that they play officially and the other unofficially offline.
Either way it’s quite cool to see big AAA games running on a system such as the Nintendo Switch which ordinarily would never work.
