A 13-year-old boy from Nevada, US, has made headlines across the globe after a YouTube video led him to commit what could be one of the most selfless acts of all time.
William Preston decided to trade in his Xbox to get some money to purchase a second-hand car for his Mum after being inspired by videos on YouTube.

Speaking to KOLO News, Preston said: “I saw on YouTube where people get their mom a car and then surprise her with it. I wanted to do that.”
After spying an affordable car for sale on Facebook, Preston took his mum to view it, without her knowing he’d already paid for it as a gift for her.
“I’m still thinking at this point [it’s] still a joke,” said mum Krystal Preston. “We pull up to this house and William says ‘mom that’s your car.’..I started balling [sic] my eyes out.”

He originally asked his mum for permission, offering to either sell his Xbox or to earn the money by completing jobs for the car’s owner.

“He did some work for this women and that was his payment that he worked out with her.
“I was handed the keys and paperwork to the car and I’m freaking out but so in shock like OMG this is happening right now.”

It’s not clear whether or not he got to keep his Xbox, but here’s hoping he did!
