Catch A Glimpse Of The Last of Us Part 2’s Weapon Upgrade System

Fans of PlayStation exclusive The Last of Us have been patiently waiting for news on its sequel for what seems like forever now, but we’re still no closer to a release date.

The Last of Us Part 2 is hoped to be coming at some point in 2019, but as the months slip by that’s starting to look less and less likely. *Sob*

However, we’ve been seeing TLOU2 pop up in a lot of stories recently, so maybe we’re still in which a chance of playing it this year.

One of the most interesting things to come out relating to the Naughty Dog title comes from a video released by the company in celebration of International Women’s Day last month.

Eagle-eyed Reddittors have noticed that the video seems to show off a little (like, really little) snippet of the game via an employee’s monitor.

In a screenshot visible behind UI designer María Capel’s you can spot a workbench on the screen, something that should be very familiar to TLOU players (thanks, GamesRadar!)

Workbenches were scattered throughout the post-apocalyptic world of the first game, and allowed you to upgrade and modify your weapons to make the strongest and most badass Infected-killers possible.

If you look even more closely you can just make out the word “Upgrade” at the top left of the screen, with a revolver pistol highlighted.

It’s not much to go on, but hey, it’s something, right?

In other The Last of Us 2 news, the past week has seen the title shown up in the ‘Coming Soon’ section for some PlayStation Store users across Europe. Unfortunately, it didn’t show a release date.

Although fans were hoping for a release date reveal from E3 2019, Sony has confirmed it won’t be holding its usual conference at the event. Being absent from E3’s conference means it’s highly unlikely we’ll be getting a release date then.

Now’s the best time for you to complete your Grounded run of the first game before the sequel comes out. We might have a bit of a wait on our hands…
