Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is just hours away from the start of its Season One and if you weren’t excited enough then that’s just the beginning. It’s been confirmed by the developers at Infinity Ward that Modern Warfare will soon be getting additional 1v1 and 3v3 Gunfight modes – we just don’t know when.
Co-design director of multiplayer at Infinity Ward, Joe Cecot, revealed on Twitter that the additional modes will be coming “at some point.” Hopefully that means “some point soon,” but of course, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Right now, Modern Warfare’s Gunfight mode supports 2v2 only.
Although we don’t know when 1v1 and 3v3 Gunfight modes are coming, we do know when the game’s Battle Pass and Season One drop.
Activision and Infinity Ward have already given us a look at the upcoming new content. Dropping on December 3rd across all platforms, we’ll be treated to three new multiplayer maps, a new Ground War map, two Gunfight Maps, new multiplayer modes, weapons, and Spec Ops experiences.
The three multiplayer maps will be: Crash, Shipment and Vacant.
The new Ground War map will be: Port.Advertisement
New 2v2 Gunfight maps will be: Cargo, Atrium and more.
Multiplayer modes will be: Reinforce, Gunfight OSP, Infected.
New weapons include the RAM-7 and Holger-26.
New Spec Ops Experiences include: Bomb Squad, Grounded, Just Reward, Pitch Black and more.
There’ll be two types of Battle Pass: a free basic-level Pass, and a paid all-bells-and-whistles version. Although the full details haven’t been revealed by Infinity Ward just yet, a dataminer has seemingly plucked all of the Battle Pass details from the game files of the PC title.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season One begins on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 3 at 10 a.m. PT, and will run until January 28, 2020 at 10 a.m. PT.
